First - great customer service! I ordered online but was apprehensive having never heard of them before. The good news is they're a standing store in my state (NY) and I spoke with Esther and she was awesome from beginning to end. I received my boots via free UPS ground as promised w/in 5 days. I would definitely recommend purchasing through them.
I ordered the UGG Belfair Bouillon size 9M, my regular is 8-8.5 W.
The color is a light/med caramel. The texture is a durable, matte, leather that feels great, and the sole construction appears very solid. The boot is easily stylish and functional.
The sizing is a bit crazy. The 9 is snug w/thick socks, snuggish w/thin socks and loose w/o socks but I'd be afraid an 8.5 wouldn't fit at all! The width is wide even for me which gives the appearance of a larger shoe IMO. A bit of heel slippage w/o socks but no pain, chaffing or cutting, really comfortable so far and I usually have tons of fit issues. The shaft measures 12.5in from floor to top and fits almost snug around the calf (my calf measures 14in), I can get peg (skinny) pants on and some ruched bootcuts but that's it. While the shaft is tapered around the ankle, there's no ankle support also making it appear a bit bulky when walking though not excessively so. The shaft and sole lining is a synthetic/sheepskin mix. It doesn't cover the ankle, nor line the top of the shoe but is WARM and SUPERsoft, especially the sole and only moderate arch support.
1 star off for UGGs selling out to manufacturing in China and the 50/50 synthetic/sheepskin liner. I'm happy with the purchase though I haven't worn them outside yet, hopefully the heavier sock option will be more than enough for freezing temps and these will last for years to come.
