Best leather slippers available, bar none.
I have worn smooth leather slippers (sometimes called Opera or Grecian slippers) in my office for many years, in place of my street shoes. Because I wear them every day, all day, I have gone through several pairs from competing brands. I always found the others initially comfortable but ultimately wanting in construction, so they wore out very quickly: problems with other brands included tricot and cloth linings and plastic/rubber soles that wore through quickly, and plastic pieces in the toe and heel that collapsed and broke and quickly became uncomfortable.
No such problems with the Draper slippers - their quality is outstanding throughout. The lining and soles are leather and have exhibited excellent durability. Where the competition is glued the Drapers are stitched, and the stitching is wonderfully tight and straight. And comfort is excellent - like all good shoes they took a little while to completely break in (less than a work week), but now they feel great.
This is truly a case where spending a little bit more (about $20US) buys you a great deal more. If this pair ever wears out I will certainly buy another - my only regret is not having bought slippers from Draper of Glastonbury before now.
